Narrate Your Script!

The most important aspect of a film is writing. Experts have opined that almost 90% of the films that flop, have a faulty writing. The reasons vary from incoherent screenplay, dull narrative, flat dialogues - writing is the toughest of all arts that go into making a film!

There are various ways of course, to get that perfect script.

Before I tell you the best way OR the way that worked best for me, I would like to ask you a simple Q - how many of aspiring writers; screenwriters  or film-makers really narrate their script to a focus-audience or TG (Target Group)?

My answer lies in the answer to this Q -  the way that worked best for me, is narrating the script to target group(s).

Did I see you gape?

Yes, because you are worried; what if the script gets stolen or the idea gets stolen & copied. There are bright chances for that to happen, so relax, I have always told in my Master Class across the world to get copyright for your script. It is a MUST.

I remember narrating a wonderful script, Virgin.. Mira, to a producer whose film won National Award (India). Even, such a big producer, didn't shy away from flipping my script - it was only when I told him that I have copyright for my script, did he lie low. Point is, did I stop taking chances?

No!

I still narrate my script.

Your script might be safe or might be copied - point is narration really gives you an insight of the way others perceive and receive your written work. So, overcome your fear - if you are not narrating your script, start doing it now, you will be surprised by the inputs you get. Of course, there are chances that even your copyright script, might get flipped - but only those who take a chance can dream of becoming winners!
